Mindanao, Philippines 2010
Political and religious terrorism remains high in the Philippines but Nonilo Sanchez brings the good news of the gospel to a country increasingly subject to attacks by Islamic extremists. Nonilo's story is fascinating.
While on the verge of going underground to fight against the government, he became a Christian when God sent someone to tell him about hope and new life in Christ.
More than 20 years have passed and since that time Nonilo has had an unwavering determination to take the gospel message wherever the Lord sends him, especially to the Communist and Muslim areas of the Philippines.
His ministry, Sola Gratia Ministries Inc. (SGMI) was approved by the Philippine government in 2002. Since then SGMI has planted more than 26 churches in eight provinces of the Philippines and are expanding in the islands. More than 100 pastors and missionaries have been trained through Sola Gratia's Mobile School of Theology and Ministry.
Since 2006 Sola Gratia has used a Radio ministry using an FM radio transmitter. The Lord used it to draw more people, and even Pastors, to listen to the exposition of the Bible verse by verse. It is helping their outreach work and a main reason of the rapid spread of the gospel in the islands.
Sola Gratia has Youth Camps, Family Camps, and Women’s camps held every April beginning in 2004. God is using it to reach out these different groups with gospel, discipleship and training in ministry. The number of participants are growing in number every year.
We will be traveling to Mindanao for a number of projects. We will be shooting for the documentary, and a promotional DVD that Nonilo will use to inform people about his work, and to help raise much needed funding. We will also be there for the pastors conference, and to deliver some needed items donated by the Saratoga Federated Church congregation.
We still need to raise $2,900 to cover the cost of production and travel for this documentary.
Each donor of $100 or more will be credited as a producer of this film and recieve a copy of the final documentary on DVD. Please pray for the production team, Nonilo and his family, and all the Pastors at the conference.
Please make checks payable to Saratoga Federated Church, and write "2010 Philippines Mission Trip" in the memo of your check. We will mail you a receipt as soon as payment is received.
