“The Last Trek” – Feature Film

Based on a True Story

Color Chooser

Peter was a geologist and an avid outdoorsman, who loved to backpack, hike and spend time in the mountains. He loved to spend time with his wife and friends in their mountain home, enjoying BBQ, fine wine and the music of the Grateful Dead.

Carl was a new friend to Peter introduced by his wife Cherie, and married to Jean, one of Cherie’s closest friends. Peter and Carl hit it off immediately at a summer dinner realizing during their conversation that they had a lot in common. Carl also loved to backpack and spend time in the mountains of California. Carl and Jean lived just down the road from Peter and Cherie, and the four of them were looking forward to spending more time together, they were just unaware of the tragic circumstances by which this would occur.

Life changed dramatically for all of them when Peter was diagnosed with a brain tumor that had less than a 5% survival rate after treatment. As Peter’s physical condition worsened, his spiritual life awoke as he began to seek meaning for his life by asking Carl questios about God and heaven. Carl was a Christian who had moved away from God, and was returning to understand his relationship with Jesus just before meeting Peter.

Could Carl answer Peters questions and give comfort to a dying man? What lessons would God teach him about life, death and his relationship with Jesus Christ. How would Peter deal with the fact that his time on this earth was about to end? Why did these two men meet exactly when they did?

This is an incredible true story of two men that were brought together by divine plan. The circumstances that led to redemption of two broken souls are truly amazing and wondrous. This is a story of extraordinary compassion, intimacy, courage, faith and love that culminates in the last trek of Peter’s life. His last sojourn into the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains, but the beginning of his journey to know his Lord and Savior.
